Affinity was founded by Doctors who want to make a difference to their community and who have devoted their lives to Medicine. 

We brought together a group of Wellington's leading medical imaging technologists, sonographers and administration professionals to form affinity.

  • Seamus is a graduate of the University of Otago School of Medicine, completing his radiology training in Wellington. He moved to London undertaking further work in Emergency Radiology. Interests in Telradiology and Network radiology, working for Imaging Partners Online (now Everlight). He was the founding radiologist in London for Pacific Radiology's overnight reporting service, Anytime.

    On returning to New Zealand Seamus has continued his work in Emergency Radiology and has worked for Pacific Radiology, Hutt Valley DHB and for the NHS.

  • Dr. Young is a RANZCR-certified Radiologist specializing in General and Musculoskeletal imaging. With over 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Young is committed to delivering accurate, timely diagnostic imaging and patient-centred care.

    Dr. Young earned her medical degree from the University of Otago and completed residency training in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology in New Zealand. She also completed additional fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Imaging in Australia, further advancing her expertise in this area.

    Currently, Dr. Young is part of the radiology team at Affinity Medical Imaging, where they collaborate closely with referring physicians to support high-quality patient outcomes through advanced imaging technologies.

    Dr. Young is also a member of the Australasian Musculoskeletal Imaging Group (AMSIG), holds a position as a Consultant Radiologist at Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) and is involved in supervising and teaching the next generation of Radiologists in training in the Wellington region. 

  • A graduate of the University of Queensland and born in New Zealand, Matthew returned to work in a GP/Community urgent care setting for 3 years, prior to being accepted for his Radiology training in Wellington, then completed a MSKl fellowship in Hobart, working for I-Med Radiology.

    Matthew has worked as a full time general and sub-specialist MSK radiologist since 2019 and is a member of the Australasian Musculoskeletal Imaging Group (AMSIG). His main clinical interests are in MSK ultrasound, MRI and intervention, CT and ultrasound guided MSK and spine injections.

    Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.

  • Dr. Hannah Kim is a RANZCR-certified Radiologist who earned her medical degree from University of Auckland School of Medicine and completed residency training in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology in New Zealand. She arrived in Wellington as a final year registrar and started working as a consultant radiologist in the Wellington region from 2018. 

    She is currently part of the radiology team at Affinity Medical Imaging and also works part-time at Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora)  where she contributes to head and neck and gynae-oncology cancer multi-disciplinary meetings. With over seven years of experience in the public sector, Dr. Kim is a seasoned clinician committed to delivering accurate, timely diagnostic imaging and patient-centred care. 

    Dr. Kim has previously served as Director of Training and a member of the senior leadership team at the Radiology Department of Wellington Hospital. She remains a dedicated teacher who offers regular teaching sessions for future radiologists in training. 

  • Dr. Kevin Banks is a US based Radiologist with ABR and ABNM board certification. He specializes in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging with a particular interest in SPECT-CT, PET-CT, renal scintigraphy and gastrointestinal transit. With over 18 years of clinical experience, Dr. Banks is committed to delivering accurate, timely diagnostic imaging and patient-centered care.
